Poet Larkin is very polite about the toads. Notwithstanding, they are green with envy and moist with slime. They are wet and sexed up. Don’t you kiss them into princesses.
But you know the toads are inevitable . Only then can you pay your bills. On Mondays the toads are slimy but by Friday they turn shiny and glistening.
On Saturdays you write poems about being toady . Being toady makes your life that much easier. Writing a poem is a physical thing and you actually feel it so in your green envy. Toads make you envious and green.
With the toads , you can wear your green paint and move your eyebrows in dance.
